Before being a stay at home mom, I was a special education teacher for 12 years. Over the years, I compiled a list of on line resources that I used in the classroom, not knowing then that they would be so useful as a parent. Most of the websites are free and have endless tools to help your child in reading, writing, handwriting, math or simply free coloring pages. These sites are great to enrich your child’s learning or to help them catch up. Here are my favorites:
Mrsperkins.com: Mrs.Perkins' Dolch Words is a website dedicated to providing teachers and parents with everything they need to teach Dolch sight words to their children.
Scholastic.com/parents/: Inspire your child’s imagination and support learning with their fun at-home activities.
Abcteach.com: Pre K - 8 materials and creative activities for students and educators. They have over 5,000 free documents available, including printable worksheets, interactive activities, theme units, and much more.
Kidzone.ws: Fun facts for kids, photos and printable activity worksheets. Suitable for Kindergarten through Grade 6.
Kaboose.com: Crafty activities for kids and educational information for Mom and Dad.
Edhelper.com: Membership required, about $19.99/year for basic membership but the resources are endless. I used Edhelper daily for every subject…my personal favorite web site. Worth the investment.
