Why not celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with this traditional recipe? It’s a very easy, very good tasting bread. Best if made the day before, or several hours before serving.

Ingredients4 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1/2 cup butter, melted
raisins, soaked in warm water and drained (optional)2 cups buttermilk
Directions Mix together dry ingredients add rest of ingredients except for raisins. Add raisins to mixture. Bake in a preheated oven in a greased cast iron skillet for 50-60 minutes until golden brown.
