GRUNER VELTLINER 2008, Hugl Weine, Austria |
This Estate Bottled wine has a golden color and a tropical fruit bouquet. It is zesty, full of citrus and lime and mineral flavors and a clean fresh finish. The Gruner Veltliner grape is the most widely planted grape in Austria and can be traced back to Roman times.
MONTEPULCIANO D’ABRUZZO 2007, Capestrano, Italy
The color is deep red and the bouquet is rich with plum, black cherry and violet aromas. It is a robust wine that maintains the flavors with a good balance of tannins. Interestingly this wine is aged in stainless steel, not wood.. Montepulciano is a grape grown in Abruzzi, a region in east-central Italy.
The wines were purchased from our local wine shops and are both priced under $15.
