CHARDONNAY 2009, Cinquante-Cinq (France) This is a wine for those who prefer their chardonnay not be masked by wood bouquet and flavors. This chardonnay has a nice straw color with a light floral bouquet with citrus undertones. It is sleek and elegant with flavors of honeysuckle and yellow apples and mineral. Clean and refreshing. A very nice dinner wine.
MAS DONIS 2007, Celler de Capcanes, (Spain) A blend of 85% Grenache and 15% Syrah, it has a deep rich cherry color and a big bouquet of berries, licorice and a slight hint of cinnamon. Full, complex body with flavors of spices and concentrated fruit. A long full finish. Aged in both American and French oak for 8 months.
Both wines were purchased from your local wine shops and were priced under $15 the bottle.
