My family is strong. We have doctors, lawyers, Orchestra conductors, Lords in the house of parliament and Me...the only child...my mother's pride and joy! I was concerned if my mom could love a child that was not related to her, to us. I knew she would be wonderful but to truly love it... I was worried!
Silly me. Upon informing my mother that I was holding her grandson she has never been right since. She lost the ability to form sentences, to think , to complete a task. On her way to meet him in his birth state, she told the ENTIRE airplane that she was meeting her grandson. When the passengers exited the plane they all offered congratulations, and well wishes! She cried so much for two years straight , I thought she would dry up. She got every baby proofing item around, Anything that touches her grandson was organic , cotton and washed 4 times.
Now, with two grandchildren ,her house is over run with photos of the kids & their toys. She attends every school play, party, picnic, recital and game she can. She has grandma brag books, necklaces, bags and sweatshirts..something my prim and proper mother would NEVER have worn prior to her grandchildren. She is in love with them more that I thought she could be..I think she loves them more than me!
