Senior Benefits Center

The Senior Benefits Center will be open each Thursday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. This free service will offer seniors and their families assistance with determining the benefits they need, Medicare questions, Prescription plans, food stamps, HEAP, EPIC, weatherization, minor home repair, tax relief programs, or any questions they might have. The center is run by volunteers in the library gallery on the second floor mezzanine. The volunteers are trained by the Westchester Library System in collaboration with the Medicare Rights center to offer counseling in six libraries. Volunteers include retired professionals such as nurses, teachers, social workers and other professionals. BRIARCLIFF SENIOR BUS

The Village of Briarcliff Manor provides a Senior Citizen Bus, which accommodates up to 16 passengers and is equipped with a wheel chair lift. Door-to-door transportation, on a first-come, first-served basis, is available using a phone reservation system. Local shopping trips are scheduled every Thursday, and trips to nearby malls are scheduled for most Tuesdays.

Cortlandt SENIOR CITIZENS SHOPPING

The shopping bus will pick up eligible Cortlandt Seniors at their home to go to the Cortlandt Town Center and Jefferson Valley Mall. Seniors will be returned to their homes after shopping. The Jefferson Valley Mall bus runs on the 3rd Monday of the month. In order for the shopping service to operate a minimum number of 5 seniors is required. The contribution for the shopping bus is $2.00. Hours at mall for shopping: 3rd Monday of the Month—Jefferson Valley Mall—10:00 A.M. - 2 P.M. (minimum 5 Seniors) Thursday—Cortlandt Town Center, Route 6— 10:00 A.M. - 2 P.M. Call Nora Hogan at 528-8377 for reservations and information.
 

Cortlandt PRESCRIPTION PICKUP AND DELIVERY SERVICE

Home delivery service to provide those eligible Cortlandt Seniors 60+ with a pickup and delivery service. This program will run Monday, Wednesday & Friday between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Call Nora Hogan at 528-8377 for information and advanced reservations.

If you are a resident of the Town of Ossining, 67 years of age or over, you can purchase discount taxi coupons at the Ossining Community Center, Monday - Friday, 9:00 - 2:00 pm.

Cortlandt COMPUTER CLASSES

Computer classes are available to Town of Cortlandt Senior Citizen 60 + years of age. Classes will be offered at The Muriel H. Morabito Community Center. Six (6) Seniors are needed to run each class. Registration will be based on first come first served basis. Call 528-1672 for information, fees, and schedule.
 

Cortlandt SENIOR CITIZENS MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION

Transportation to area Doctors and Medical Facilities and back home again to those eligible Cortlandt Seniors. Medical car runs on Monday, Thursday and Friday. Transportation can only be provided as far as Yorktown-Jefferson Valley-Putnam Valley as well as Peekskill and Cortlandt areas. For reservations and information call Nora Hogan at 528-8377. Advanced reservations are required. The contribution for the medical car is $4.00.
 

Blood Pressure Monitoring
