The Village of Briarcliff Manor’s Senior Advocate is available to assist you with any problem typically addressed by a social service agency. All calls are returned as promptly as possible, and if you wish, the Advocate will meet with you in your home to discuss your specific needs or concerns. Topics the Advocate may be able to provide you assistance with include:
Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid Information & Resources
Rehabilitation Services and Long Term Care Services
Physical and Mental Health Issues
Prescription Drug Program Assistance
Nutrition, Food Pantries, Meals on Wheels programs
Senior Citizen Volunteer Opportunities & Referrals
Help filling out applications and interpreting confusing correspondence

LOCAL SHOPPING BUS
For Croton Seniors, a shopping bus is available twice per week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, for seniors who need to go grocery shopping. The bus takes residents to ShopRite, the bank or the post office. To register, please contact Liz Thomas at 271-5804.
 
CROTON SENIOR WALKERS
Dates: Meets each Wednesday throughout the year, weather permitting
Time: 9:30 – 10:30 AM
Location: Meet at the parking area at Croton Landing Park
Fee: FREE, but registration is required
Join other Seniors for a weekly exercise walk, weather permitting, along Croton’s beautiful new park which meanders along the Hudson River. Walk at your own pace and enjoy the company of other Seniors. Benches are available along the walkway for rest periods if needed. Dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy walking shoes.

Monday  10 a.m.  Bingo, Card Games, Dancercise with Gerri Feller
             11 a.m. Coffee & Conversation weekly (with Dr. Janet Foy once a month)
             11:30 – 1:30Blood pressure screening and general health counseling by

             1:30 p.m.Choral Practice or appearances as scheduled

Peekskill Seniors

The Peekskill Senior Center offers social, recreational, instructional and civic programs to Peekskill Seniors 60 years of age and older Monday thru Thursday from 9:30am till 3:30pm at the Neighborhood Center, 4 Nelson Avenue.

Activities for Seniors

LOCAL SHOPPING BUS  A shopping bus is available twice per week, Tues and Thurs, for those seniors who need to go grocery shopping. The bus takes residents to Shoprite, to the bank, or to the post office. To participate should call the Croton Rec Dept at 271-3006.

SENIOR CITIZEN CLUBS Cortlandt, Nor-Cort and Crompond Club meetings take place at the Muriel H. Morabito Community Center on West Brook Dr.  Verplanck Club meets at the Verplanck Schoolhouse, 6th St.  Special trips, information symposiums and socials are all  part of club membership.  To be a member of any of these clubs, you must be a resident of the Town of Cortlandt.

Exercise Class: Mondays 10:30-11:30am, Thursdays              9:45-10:45am, Fridays 10-11am.

Ceramics Class: Mondays 12:30-2:30pm

Senior Citizens Club Croton-on-Hudson Meetings Friday Mornings in the Community Room . Trips to museums, the dinner theater and Atlantic City; Holiday parties; educational and information sessions; driving courses; shopping bus (register for this service through the Croton Caring Committee, Ann Kennedy 271-4979, or the Recreation Department, 271-3006.)

Senior Citizen Gold Passes Available
Croton senior citizens may attend school district plays, concerts, and athletic events for free with a Senior Citizen Gold Pass. Passes can be picked up at the District Office. For more information, contact Denise Lowry, Secretary to the Superintendent at 271-4793.
