“The Hudson Valley Tapestry,” watercolors by Valerie Leis, will be on display starting March 4th through April. Says Leis, “Our area affords a fabulous tapestry in its glorious surroundings. Preserves like Teatown, the reservoir, our mighty rivers and verdant hills, as well as a built environment steeped in history, are sources of endless inspiration. Finding a way to capture just a moment of that glory, of our sense of place, is exhilarating.” Ms. Leis, a longtime Croton on Hudson resident and realtor with Coldwell Banker, has served many years on Croton’s Board of the Visual Environment, is active in the Croton Arts Council, and was Board President of the Croton Cortlandt Center for the Arts where, almost seven years ago as a student under Anne Johann, she began exploring the world of watercolor. Artist’s reception Saturday, March 13th, 3 pm to 5 pm. All welcome. |
